Dr. Venkatesh Kodur

Dr. Kodur is a University Distinguished Professor and Director of Centre on Structural Fire Engineering and Diagnostics at Michigan State University. His research interests include: Evaluation of fire resistance of structural systems through large scale fire experiments and numerical modeling and Characterization of materials under high temperature. His research contributions has led to the development of fundamental understanding on the fire behavior of material and structural systems and also resulted in numerous design approaches and innovative and cost-effective solutions for enhancing fire-resistance of structural systems. 

Venkatesh has published over 250 peer-reviewed papers in journals and conferences, and has given numerous invited key-note presentations. He is a professional engineer, Fellow of ASCE and ACI, Associate Editor of Journal of Structural Engineering, Chairman of ACI Fire Protection Committee, Chairman of ASCE-29 (Fire) Standards Committee and a member of UK-EPSRC College of Reviewers. He has won many awards including AISC Faculty Fellowship Award, NRCC (Government of Canada) Outstanding Achievement Award and NATO award for collaborative research. Dr. Kodur was part of the FEMA/ASCE Building Performance Assessment Team that studied the collapse of WTC buildings as a result of September 11 attack.


Dr. Pradeep Kumar Nandam

Dr. Rajagopal currently works as a Manufacturing Information Technology Manager for International Paper, a global leader in the paper and packaging industry. He has held many positions in the private industry, public industry, and the Health Care industry in the USA and Canada. As part of his work at the Atomic Energy Canada Limited and the International Paper Company, he has traveled widely in Europe, Africa, Asia and the Americas.

Dr. Rajagopal has a Bachelors degree, Masters of Science, and Ph.D. all in Chemistry He spent 4 years as a post doctoral fellow in the department of Neurology and Neurosurgery, Montreal Neurological Institute and Hospital, an affiliate with the McGill University, Montreal, PQ, Canada. He has published several papers in peer-reviewed journals and presented over one hundred lectures in conferences and manufacturing facilities around the globe.

Dr. Rajagopal is a recipient of several prestigious awards: Discovery Award (AECL Chairman), Sustainable Development Award of Excellence (Manitoba Premier), Environmental Award for business (Financial Post), and Customer Excellence Award (IP Chairman)

Dr. Rajagopal, a proud father of a national award winning 13 year old boy, has been actively engaged in his son's education. He has researched and kept in touch with several different educational programs and supplements such as Kumon, Enopi, Tutor Vista, and Sylvan .

Mr. Terry Werner

Mr. Werner worked inside the K-12 educational system within the State of Washington for over thirty years. During those years he was a teacher, principal, Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment and Superintendent in several districts across our state. After retiring from public service he worked 5 years in school and district improvement as a School Improvement Facilitator (SIF) and District Improvement Facilitator (DIF) for OSPI. During this 5 year experience he worked on both sides of the on-site review process, serving as the on-site coordinator for several on-site reviews and as a member of the on-site review team. In addition, he has worked with the Center for Educational Effectiveness (CEE) and many districts across our state for the past 2 years around data and school improvement issues.

Mr. Werner has deep knowledge and understanding of the educational system. He has extensive experience working with all levels within the educational institution - state agency officials, district officials and school management team.
