Red Comet’s virtual high school is designed to help ensure that students receive the best education possible. Red Comet understands that the best way to do this is to continuously track the student’s progress through our courses. Our continued assessments throughout your student’s education at Red Comet will help us ensure that they are always heading in the right direction.
Red Comet has a variety of assessment methods to help us identify, gather, and interpret data to ensure that your student gets the most possible benefit from our virtual high school.
Virtual High Schools Help Students Excel
Our courses enable us to provide a thorough assessment of every student, while our virtual high school courses also provide students with clear benchmarks that enable self-assessment. We offer an array of practice tests in addition to the final tests for each of our courses, and students determine when they are prepared enough to take the final exam.
Digital Education Courses Designed for Students
Red Comet’s digital education courses are designed keeping students in mind. Before beginning each section of a course, the student can opt to take a pre-test. This enables us to gauge a student’s commitment to learning as well as to help gauge their existing knowledge of the subject. Students scoring high enough on pre-tests are eligible to take the final test in that section without the need to complete every individual module. If pre-test scores are not high enough, however, all section modules will need to be completed before the final test can be taken for that section.
Red Comet course content is designed to make use of numerous examples and to offer interactive features when possible. We feel this helps students practice learned skills and ensures that they are able to relate the content to their day to day experiences. Red Comet course content is grade specific and is designed to meet all state guidelines and requirements.
When all of the modules in a course section have been completed, students can progress to the final test. This assessment includes a number of multiple choice, true and false, and essay questions. Essays typically comprise a large portion of the final grade in courses, especially with language courses where these types of questions are applicable. The math and science courses, however, have points assigned to specific problem solving. Proving knowledge of techniques and concepts will carry higher points than those for essay questions.
Helping Students Excel through Digital Learning
Red Comet assessment techniques are designed to ensure that your student’s digital learning experience offers the same or higher level of education that he or she would receive in a traditional high school setting. We set easily measurable benchmarks for performance and progress. Red Comet’s goal is to make it painless for students to gain a working knowledge of the subjects and to offer verifiable assessments that make it easy to understand how the student is performing in their virtual high school courses.
