“Young athletes can use Red Comet online courses to fulfill NCAA® initial eligibility requirements on a schedule that fits both individual sports training and travel to fulfill their sports-related obligations. Red Comet offers flexibility to student athletes – they can study anywhere and at any time. They can complete all study requirements using our engaging and interactive curriculum at school, home or when they are travelling. High school athletes can take our NCAA-approved high school classes to fulfill academic requirements or for credit recovery. For credit recovery, they can retake high school classes at Red Comet to improve the previous grade they had earned at their high school” said Ms. Sapna Ganeshan, President of Red Comet.

“Traveling on a routine basis to compete at state and nation-wide gymnastics competitions was getting in the way of our daughter’s high school graduation. Prior to the summer London Olympics 2012, she was on the road constantly – working hard to make it to the team. She did not this time but we are hoping that she will make it to the 2016 team. She was really disappointed. But what would have made the situation worse was if she had not graduated with her own high school class. But thanks to online high schools like Red Comet, our daughter continued to learn and make progress. And in 2012, she graduated on time from high school making this a memorable year in a different way” said a young and aspiring gymnast’s mother.

Red Comet is fully accredited by Northwest Accreditation Commission (NWAC), which is part of AdvancED. Students in Washington State may be eligible to take Red Comet courses free of charge. Students throughout the country can use Red Comet’s high school classes that include all the core subjects as well as numerous high school electives. A variety of students use Red Comet’s online learning program – students attending public high schools who need extra credits for high school classes, students attending private schools who are looking for electives, students in need of credit recovery, home school high school students, athletes, students with part-time jobs etc.

Red Comet is also approved by OSPI – Washington State Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction as a “Multi District Online Course Provider” and as a “School Program Provider”. All Red Comet course credits for high school classes are accepted by most High Schools throughout the United States of America. This applies to credit recovery as well.
